Project 2: Art Guide and Project Management Document
LECTURES AND INSTRUCTIONS
Week 9
With last week's feedback, I recreated the logo in Momo Trust Sans. We also used Jessie's initial idea which was to make the 'l' like the handle of a glasses.
Fig 5.5 Exploration and Iterations
With one font only, it felt a bit plain and it was suggested to incorporate a different font. I chose a serif italic font to contrast the clean and bold lines of the sans-serif font. I chose 'n' as it can also represent the word, 'new,' which aligns with our goal of creating something new.
Moreover, visually, we all felt like the incorporation of the serif made the logo look more modern while still saying simple. We also applied the glasses handle inspired 'l' and the curved idea for the 'R.'
Finally, one final logo was approved. Below is the final logo.
Week 10
In week 10, we presented our project 1 which was the project proposal. The presentation went well and Mr. Kamal only advised us to revise the target audience to be more specific.
After this presentation, I worked on the logo guideline.
Week 11
We had class and consulted on our art guide draft. We were told to change the red color hue as it isn't too nice on the eyes and also to keep the font consistent with the font we have chosen.
Week 12
This week's consultation was done online. Overall, Mr. Kamal told us it was going well and we can continue to finalize it.
By this week, I have finalized my logo guideline. I struggled a bit with the rationalization so it took some time to make sure that it was readable and easily understood.
For the logo clear space, I utilized the serif 'n' as the measurement.
Fig 5.5 Logo Clearspace
As for the rationalization, I showed the measurements and rationalization in the curved gap of the 'R' and the 'l,' as well as the equal gap in the letter 'n.' Since it's italicized, and the tips are touching the letters next to it, an equal gap is needed so the spacing looks optically balanced. Other than that, I also marked the x-height, cap height and baseline.
I measured the default spacing with the variable 'x.' The circle diameters are marked with 'y.'

Afterwards, I sent both of these to Jessie who arranged it in the art guide layout.
Week 13
This week's consultation was also done online. We were told to continue finalizing it. The art guide is currently still ongoing its finalization process by Jessie and Edita.
Week 14
This week, we had no consultation and we just worked on submitting it. By this point, the poster part is already finalized, the application prototype is currently finalized by Tracy and the art guide is on its last finalizing process.

I noticed there was the logo in low opacity on the page but the size and placement was inconsistent. Moreover, it didn't appear consistently throughout the art guide as it only appeared in the typography page and then in every page of the app section. For this one, I suggested to make the position and size more consistent or remove it entirely since personally, it looked cleaner without the logo.
The group decided to remove it entirely from the slides.

Below is the mockup with the supposedly finalized poster design. But it turns out last minute changes were made and Pricillia, who was in charge of the poster design part and this mockup, wasn't informed. The updated poster was only updated in the previous three slides.
FEEDBACKS
Week 10
- Can improve on the target audiences, make it more specific, deeper instead of just student and worker.
Week 11
- Red color in the guideline as the background isn't good, hurts the eye. Try using different colors for each section to enhance readability.
- Change font to Momo Trust Sans to keep everything consistent
- Make sure each page has consistent margins and spacing
- Some slides are still a bit plain, try adding graphics or elements
Week 12
- Continue finishing the guide
Week 13
- Continue finishing the guide. For the app, try including profile image
- Can add button to select the picture or rotate the camera for the face scan features
- Maybe can make the app more personalized with showing the face shape for user or recommendation of glasses
Week 14
- No class
REFLECTIONS:
Throughout this project, truthfully, I felt like I didn't contribute as much as the other members as my part was very minor in comparison to the others. Even though I did the logo in the previous task, I felt like I could've gotten more parts to help the others.
Nonetheless, through this part of the project, I also tried my best to offer feedback and inputs when asked or needed and I helped in whatever way I could. At the same time, I also did not want to come off as taking someone else's responsibility, as I know how upsetting that feels.
From this project, the one big thing I learned is, again, how important communication between one member to another and in the group. Other than communication, I learned how important it is to work on the responsibility that have been assigned to each of us. There was some misunderstanding that happened at the end because of the lack of communication and I think it could be avoided if only the communication was better.
Other than that, overall I have learned a lot of new knowledge throughout this module.
